Note : This guide is only for R4i ULTRA cards. Do not try on any other R4i cards.

If you are sure your DSi firmware version is 1.4 then proceed as below, otherwise click DSi category on our blog to check your DSi firmware.

You will need these to update your R4i Ultra Card:

• DSi Console with Firmware lower than 1.4 e.g 1.3 or 1.2 OR
• DS Lite Console
• R4i Ultra Card and a Micro sd loaded with unzipped Standard Firmware ( click here to get this)
• R4i Ultra Update file ( Click here to get this)

Process:

1. Unzip ‘R4i Ultra update file ‘ you should see this: r4ifw_update_14
2. Copy this file to the root of the Micro SD card ( which is already loaded with unzipped standard download)
3. Place the Micro SD back into the R4i Card and insert into DSL/DSi Console ( Not 1.4)
4. Make sure your DSL/ DSi ( Not 1.4). console is fully charged as it may take upto 15 minutes.
5. Select the Firmware file ultrai_update.nds
6. Follow the on screen instructions (Press X + Y to update or double click the file)
7. Agree to start the update on the next screen ( should be blue screen)
8. Wait for the update to finish.
9. Completed! You now have a working R4i Ultra card for DSi Firmware 1.4
